Unless you can buy the groomer type of with proper clipper blades, don't do it yourself! Get a groomer to do it. Shop around and get a good price. My groomer comes to my house and for both my dogs a Bichon Frise and a Cockapoo she charges $35 - $40 depending on how much fur she has to groom and that includes nail clipping,, cleaning of the ears and any dark marks around the eyes (from eyes tearing.) I bought some grooming shears with blades from a Pet Store and they simply don't work well. I took a good look at my groomer's shears and they were 100% better than the ones I had.
A #4 or #5 would be best for this situation.
It might be the type of blade you're using. If the coat is matted, you'll need a different blade, a number 7 works well for matted coats. I have an Oster clipper so, obviously, I use an Oster blade. I'm not sure what number the blade should be for an Andis clipper. The blade info should tell you what the blades use is suited for. If the coat isn't matted, you might still have to check into the best type of blade for your use.
It is important to get a professional to sharpen your clipper blades. It takes precision tools, experience, skill and attention to detail.
They take different blades, the housing is shaped different, but the motor is the same so it really comes down to comfort.
Yes, you sharpen both blades. Professional blade sharpeners refer to the set as a "clipper blade".
A hair clipper is a hair clipper. An Andis hair clipper does the same basic job as a cheaper version like Sally Hansen. It is more cost effective to try a Sally Hansen clipper first.

Being an expert of matted tangled hair One must know that products are bad for most matted and tangled hair cases. We suggest if your hair is matted then your past the point to "Do It Your Self" at this point don't wet it and if you have now don't even touch it.
I believe so, it makes sense, its like hair, it might not be the best for the clippers..
