That would of course be the Sphynx or Canadian Hairless which is, as the name implies, completely hairless, except for possibly whiskers and eyebrows, which are technically hair but not part of the fur.
Sphynx cats are knows to many people as a "hairless cat" which they are. However, there are many other types of hairless cats. Also, not all Sphynx cats are completely hairless, there are different degrees of being hairless. The lack of hair on Sphynx cats is caused by a simple genetic mutation. They usually have hair around their nose and ears.
The Canadian Sphynx originated in Canada in 1966. It's hairless gene is Recessive. HCM is very prominent in this breed. The Donskoy (also known as a Russian Sphynx or Don Sphynx) originated in Russia in 1987. The hairless gene in this breed is Dominant. Though any cat breed is susceptible to HCM, the Donskoy is not notoriously known for problems with HCM.
The 'Sphynx' cat is a breed of cat with practically no visible fur, to the extent that it looks hairless.
