The arctic tundra is vast, open space that is the coldest biome on earth. It is home to only the toughest animals like elk, deer, moose, reindeer, coyotes, wolves, penguins, and polar bears. they can survive there because of there adaptations. The tundra is full of ice and snow. the layers of ice are called permafrost. the physical characteristics would be vast, open, and icy. there are many glaciers and cliffs. a polar bear once fell off one of these cliffs. :( so sad. hope this helps!
