Yes it is. Cats communicate in lots of different ways. They meow, they hiss, they purr, they wave their tails.
I've never herd a cat bark, but they do make a growling sound and they hiss and meow.
"Meow," "Purrrr" and "Prrr" are some common ways that you can spell cat sounds. However, these vary widely across the globe. In German, "meow" is spelled as "miau," in Japanese it is "nyan," and in Catalan, it is "meu."
Cats typically make a variety of sounds, including meowing, purring, hissing, and yowling. The specific sound a cat makes can vary depending on the situation and the cat's individual personality.

Meow freaking hiss? Nya nya mew?
Meow freaking hiss? Nya nya mew?
They make aloud screech if they just got hurt. If they don't want to be held or touched, they let out a long meow or a sharp loud one. I have three cats. And one isn't very nice. If the cat's wimping they let out a low meow you can tell immediately that the cat is hurt. If your cat is angry or scared, it might growl or hiss at the thing it is mad at. or if it is scared it might puff up its fur to look bigger.
meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow? Meow.
