Calculate your expenses; materials, labor, insurance, taxes. Then add whatever profit you feel that you need to keep the business IN BUSINESS. Labor costs need to take in account how long you feel that it will take to do the job, wear and tear on any equipment, (will you be using electric floor equipment?), what your liability AND workmens comp insurances will cost, how much you'll be paying in taxes, and how much your polishes, waxes and cleaning solutions will cost. Many companies figure it all up then add a percentage of the total as profit. whenever I figure a bid, I always figure in a contingency and that amount changes based on what I perceive to be the risks involved.
