Note that pomeranians are small dogs and so can only hold a small number of puppies; there have many pomeranians litters with just one litter and 2 and 3 are very common. A pomeranians litter with 4 puppies is considered to be a large one, although litters of up to 5, 6 and even the rare 7 have been reported.
Depending on the size of the dog, I have had a litter as large as 6 puppies but the dog weighs 10lbs - i have also had a litter as small as 2 puppies but from a smaller dog. I have read that the average litter for a pomeranian is 4.
Chihuahua's have an average litter size of between only 1 and 3 puppies, whilst Pomeranian's have an average litter size of between 2 and 4 puppies. This means that you could expect a Chihuahua cross Pomeranian to have around 2 or 3 puppies.
