If you are sure it is a faulty fuel pump it is located above the carb attached to the engine cover. Follow the fuel line back from the carb and stop at the square metal part with two other hoses attached. Record the location of each hose. They are not interchangeable. Find the engine model and type numbers on the front of the blower cover above the spark plug. With these numbers you can identify the correct replacement pump part number. My 253707 0155 engine uses a Briggs part number 494280 pump
the engine if diesel is a yanmar 3cyl. there is a linkage or two to remove and fuel lines. remove the side cover and you will see how the rack works. remove the e clips or whatever attches the rod to the pump itself. then remove the nuts or bolts holding the pump inside the housing. lift the pump up and out of the housing. then dend the pump to a GOOD diesel fuel injection pump shop.
