Look to see if the pups are skinny or fat. If they sleep a lot. Notice when she nurses them, do they all latch on and for how long do they nurse. If the pups are not really thin and they look like they are growing, she is feeding them okay.

She'll get agitated with them trying to suckle, they'll be able to walk by the time they should stop drinking her milk, she (the mother) knows when to stop feeding them, you start giving the pups soft food often to get them used to it until you can completely cut off milk and feed them hard food.

the pups will be growing quite rapidly and will be gaining in strength size and weight. If you are feeding the mother a complete diet then she should produce healthy milk.
