The musky rat-kangaroo is the smallest member of the kangaroo family. Thus, it has long feet and extra strong tendons in his hind legs which give it the characteristic hopping movements of kangaroos whine moving quickly. It can move slowly also, and it will forage about on the rainforest floor on all fours, using its forelimbs to pull its body along.

Kangaroo rats don't usually walk. Instead, they hop on their long hind legs. This is why they are named after Kangaroos.

How do you tell a female desert kangroo rat from a male desert kangroo rat?

the male reproductive organ like most rodents, is large and clearly visible on males, not females. females may also be more high strung then males, however this is not always true and should not be depended on. males also stink, because they sent their territory more.
