Yes, usually you do. At a good quality riding school you could expect for a group lesson a fee of 35-45 dollars, and for a individual lesson a fee of around $50. It is expensive! If you dont go to a riding school you could be paying any amount. For your first lesson, never book in all your lessons for a term say, first try them out a few places, you want the best teaching you can get, at the cheapest you can get! :)

Some places also offer work for a discounted lesson price.
