Yes, they do . In fact my female dug a burrow and gave birth to three babies in it and it was 4 days before we found them! They will also try to tunnel under fences and can be very good at hiding the entrance to holes they make, mine have the run of the garden though and they don't dig on the lawn just in the soil, hope this helps
All rabbits dig. In the wild both males and females help dig the interconnecting burrows that the entire warren lives in. Although it's often only the females that dig nursery chambers, usually off a lesser used section of tunnel, so they can give birth in peace and quiet. This digging behaviour exists in domestic rabbits as well, who love to shred their cage linings, cardboard boxes, and so forth.
Rabbits dig the holes that is why they have claws.....
dig them
with their claws
There are many animals that dig holes underground. Frogs dig holes. Moles also dig holes and rabbits can as well. Animals will do this for protection, and to stay cool.
yes but most of them find old holes that rabbits dug
Rabbits dig their own burrows . . . that explains why they had burrows before there were any humans.
All types of animals dig holes. According to where you live, you may have groundhogs, gophers, moles, and chipmunks, just to name a few. If you have any of these and have dogs, the dogs may be trying to dig them out.
In the wild, hamsters dig holes called burrows and live in them. So by instinct, hamsters will dig.
