(she was a med. to a long hair cat) But there is no moulting or shedding.much cleaner cat and seems to be happier.so when the fall and winter comes she'll have her coat back.Right now I find it easier to keep her clean.
There is no way to actually prevent a cat from shedding. Just like humans, cats are constantly losing old hair and growing new hair in its place. You can, however, manage the amount of hair that falls off your cat by brushing it regularly. This will help to remove any hair that is already loose and diminish the amount that falls off.
You cannot KEEP a cat from sheeding, it is a natural process that all cats go through, but one way to MINIMISE the amount of fur that is shed around the house, could be brushing your cat often.
Depending on the breed of cat there are many different ways to minimize shedding, but you cannot keep a cat from losing fur.
