guinea pigs ears should not be crusty....it might be ear wax? Or it could be ear mites - when my guinea pigs had crust inside their ears and i took them to the vet for other reasons- the vet said it was ear mites- Use a cotton swab moist with warm water to clean them out
Ear mites leave a black sticky residue that you should be able to see. With a cotton swab, carefully wipe the inside of the ear and see if you remove a dark oily or grainy substance. If so, it could be ear mites.
no.
No. Go to the vetrinarian and chance is your guinea pig will be left there for about two weeks. If you think they are ear mites they could also be ear worms, which look thye same. (flaky scaby ears)
People do not get ear mites.
Hey!!! I own a dog and 2 guinea pigs. I say that while guinea pigs are fun, they poop. ALOT. So maybe a dog.. but dogs need a yearly checkup and vaccines (pain in the wallet) and guinea pigs don't. Maybe you should try rabbits. They're bigger that guinea pigs, but smaller than (some!) dogs. Also they don't have to see the vet often, but can spread ear mites causing sicknesses to other animals like dogs. ----P.S. My dog almost died from our rabbit that we had and we still have our dog now. (Poor Fluffy!)
Yes although you would have to look out for the pigs ear being chewed to get the most food.
Guinea pigs all have a bald spot behind each ear, this is normal. If they have any bald spots other places then they probably have some kind of mites or fungus, and you should take them to the vet right away. good luck and i hope this helped!
humans do not get ear mites only animals do.
No, humans cannot get ear mites. Ear mites are typically found in animals, such as dogs and cats. If your pet has ear mites, your veterinarian can provide the appropriate medication to treat them.
Yes,many guinea pigs don't have fur on their ears.
