That depends on the horse, of course. Our horses get along with the dogs, goats, lama's and cows just fine. They did not care for the raccoons that lived just outside there paddock, but they got used to them too.
The issue only comes up if there are diseases that could be transmitted between animals. I do not allow gophers in their paddocks because they could drop a hoof into a hole.
