I've had three of these dog's and as a general answer it depends how wel they are trained. However we found that cavilers that are ruby coloured tend to have a bit of springer in them so are more jumpy and tend to prefer the water.

I have a one that is 6months old and we started walking him on Friday (as that is when he was fully protected by his JABS) and he is so brainy it is untrue! He already knows sit, jump and heel when we have had him 2 weeks! His previous owner didn't train him at all, so it seems they are easy dogs to train.

My friend also has 2 of them which are both under 1yr old and they know loads of things too! Mine is also great when walking with a harness and doesn't pull at all, whereas when he had a collar he pulled like mad!

So it seems to me they are brain, easy-to-train dogs and I would suggest (if you get one) investing in a harness instead of a collar/choker.

Hope I answered your question.

Normally they don't. The closest they get to jumping is them standing on their hind legs.

no they are not tricky. They are loving, loyal and great to have fun with. As long as you train them properly then they shouldn't be tricky.
