Is the West Highland White Terrier a good breed for inexperienced dog owners to own?
Not unless you're willing to work hard.
Westies are incredibly smart, but they require firm guidance and
structure. They can be little lap dogs, but catch sight of a
squirrel and BAM! they are out of the park.
There's a lot of upkeep that comes along with Westies too.
They're more prone to allergies, need to have glands drained often
and are definitely a commitment money-wise.
Westies are sweet dogs, but like any other breed, can become
very temperamental if raised in an improper atmosphere.
