14KG on clasp of pearls what does it mean?
It depends on the size of the pearls, the length of the necklace, the quality of the pearls, who and where you are buying it from, etc. However, the necklace I own (a princess length pink pearl strand necklace) was around $2,500-$3,000. (But it also has a gold clasp with three (tiny) diamonds which added to the price.) For probably the best quality pearls buy Mikimoto pearls.
Akoya pearls are cultivated mainly in Japan and China. Vietnam, Thailand, and Australia are beginning to cultivate Akoya pearls. Originally the first person to cultivate these pearls was Kokichi Mikimoto from Japan.
Pompadour Pearls AKA "Pearls For a Princess", are faux pearls from the 1950's / 1960's. They came in a box with the name inside, and usually have a silver and marcasite clasp. They are also marked as "Pompadour" on the back of the clasp. Nice quality costume jewellery made in the UK.
"Yes, they are. Mikimoto jewelry company makes a claim to use only natural pearls in its jewelry collections. However, they have been known to be of a lesser quality than other jewelry companies, but that does not make them any less beautiful."
"They do not offer anything outside of pearls but they do offer other jewelery types in pearls for example, beautiful ear rings and stunning bracelets."
I am not sure, but my Mikimoto 1964, 18 inch was appraised at $1400. in 1980. These pearls were of the bet qualityand color and were graduated in size. Hope this helps.
It depends on how large the pearls are and if they are real. They can cost anywhere from $179 to $1,020. Look here for examples of an 18 inch pearl necklace with a 14k gold clasp. http://www.pearlnecklacesource.com/categories/Pearl-Necklaces/
I fastened the clasp of her new necklace at the back of her neck.
