No don't break it. There is a way to find the combo. There are flat spots on the dials you are turning. Finding the flat spots is the trick or method we as locksmiths use. Having the right tools and patience is needed. First you need something thin enough to slide between each dial with no resistance. You want it loose enough so you can feel for the flat spots. Start there and see if you need more information.
You can take it to a locksmiths so they can open it for you. Otherwise, try every possible combination, as there only 1000 and you might get lucky. Or try opening it with a hammer.

To reset or put in a custom code for your TSA suitcase lock follow these instructions. Set the lock to the default code of 000; use a sharp item to press the reset button in do this until you hear a click. Set your own custom code, pull the catch out as if to open the suitcase lock until you hear another click, your custom lock combination is now set.

To unlock a combination safe after you have forgotten the combination, you should probably hire a professional, if not you may want to try the loud and noisy method of going at it with a chainsaw. (which still might not work depending on the strength and thickness of the safe.)
