Clarity ensures that the message is easily understood by all parties. Empathy involves understanding and considering the feelings of others. Respect is essential in acknowledging and valuing the perspectives of each person involved.
Four characteristics that languages have continued to have in common since Babel are phonetics (sounds), grammar (sentence structure), vocabulary (words), and syntax (word order). These elements are fundamental to all languages and essential for communication.
All languages have a system of sounds to convey meaning (phonology), a system of grammar to structure sentences (syntax), a way to express concepts and ideas (lexicon), and the ability to communicate using both verbal and nonverbal cues.

Non electronic methods of communication are ways of communicating through non-electronic sources such as letters, reports, memorandums, etc. Before the invention of electricity, Communication was slow and difficult. Some messages took days, weeks and even months to arrive to its destination. It was also not as affective and less people were able to receive these messages at once.
