Now, they created the constitution of the United States, Article 1= the legislative branch and it's powers given to it (massive, and it's the first article in the constitution clearly favored by the founding fathers.), Article 2= The Presidency and executive office [which does have some judicial and legislative powers (legislative= veto,,, judicial=presidential pardon), article 3 talks very briefly about the judicial branch and only creates the supreme court, every other court in the united states was created by the legislative branch.
We have 3 branches of government so that when 1 gets out of hand the people are still protected as every person has said above me, when congress gets out of line and passes laws that are unconstitutional the supreme court found the power [was not directly given to it] to strike down laws found unconstitutional. yes la la la
They did this so that nobody could become too powerful (because the branches would check and balance each other) and also so that the entirety of the government was NOT in the hands of one person, like in England ---> they were very fearful that this person would become corrupted and pull down the whole government.
The Constitution of the United States did not strengthen nor did it weaken executive power, it granted limited power to the President for a limited time. Any strengthening of the Executive branch has happened through political inventions such as Executive Orders and military police actions or humanitarian aid. It is not the Executive branch alone that has found strength from outside of the Constitution. Congress has found the power to enforce their own laws, a power delegated to the Executive branch, by the creation of administrative agencies. The courts have found the power of legislation through "activism" and all three branches have worked together like an Olympic weight lifting team to strengthen each branch at the great expense of the people.
There is no good reason at all for our President to be the most powerful leader in the free world. In our republican form of government we don't have leaders we have representatives who have been authorized to act on the peoples behalf. To provide for the defense of this nation, to promote the general welfare and to ensure that the inalienable rights of each individual are not impinged upon. Each branch was granted limited power to accomplish this. Because we have a government who has cleverly sidestepped our Constitution and invented a bureaucratic system where the people, so overwhelmed and dismayed by the foreign nature of the laws and rules and procedures they have been presented with they simply just go along. After all, it could be worse, we could live in some other tyrannic country that's not as free as our own tyrannic country. I once watched John Stewart of Comedy Central say that he did not want a President he could relate to, a folksy likable chap. He wanted a President who was smarter than him. He wanted a President who was ridiculously smarter than him. Every body in the room watching that episode, except for me of course, nodded their heads in agreement. Why should we go in agreement that the problems of today are too complex for the average person to handle? What kind of weak willed philosophy is that? We don't need a government filled with officials who are smarter than the people, we need people who are smarter than these ambitious fools who seek to circumvent the Constitution in order to better lead. Don't follow that nonsense. Follow your own path, and don't let a government with no authority to do so, intrude upon your happiness.
The executive branch is severely checked by the other branches, especially the legislative. The purpose for the executive branch itself was mainly for the American people to have a leader that can enforce the policies enacted by the legislative and judicial branches. The founders would never have wanted an overly powerful executive branch - they had just gotten out from under the rule of a king and never wanted the state's power to rest in one person.
There are three branches. The legislative, executive, and judicial. The legislative consists of the house of representatives. The judicial consists of the supreme court. The president and his cabinet, works in the executive branch.
The main function of the executive branch is to enforce and administer laws, as well as oversee the operations of the government.
The executive branch of government is responsible for enforcing and executing the laws. This branch includes the president or prime minister and their administration, such as executive agencies and departments, that are tasked with implementing and administering laws passed by the legislative branch.
The main parts of the executive branch in the United States are the President of the United States, the Vice President, the Cabinet, and various executive departments and agencies. These entities are responsible for enforcing laws, managing government operations, and implementing policies.
The branch of government that carries out the laws made by Congress is the executive branch. This branch is headed by the President of the United States and includes various departments and agencies responsible for enforcing and implementing laws.
