Answerread this! la laThis was to ensure that no branch of government could over power another branch of government and as a way to instill a system of checks and balances. See Democracy based on Aristotle's definition, he created democracy to be all 3 forms of the governments he had seen rise and fall in hopes that together they would stand. first the warrior king, the single tyrannical ruler [executive branch]; second the oligarchy [ruled by the few [educated]- senate]; and finally the extreme democracy ruled by the people- the house of reps]. the warrior king would conquer a country, the oligarchy would overthrow the warrior king, then the people would rise up and rule amongst themselves. this created chaos and constant unrest, thus Aristotle in his infinite wisdom merged the 3. AnswerThe fathers created 3 branches because they felt that if the government had too much power that they would become power hungry, so they separated powers to keep everything equal so power couldn't corrupt. Checks and Balances. AnswerThe three branches all have an equal amount of power which represents the fairness in our country... [editing-> actually, the branches were not created equally, the legislature was given more power than any branch, the executive branch was given a little less, and the supreme court was barely mentioned or thought of by the founding fathers. though the supreme court along with the executive branch do expand their power from time to time through interpretation of the constitution. ]AnswerIt was the best way they thought to have equal power in government. This was there would be three groups of power to decide different things in government and no one group would have more power than another group. AnswerWhen the founding fathers wrote The Constitution of the United States of America, times were different and they knew things would change, so they wrote the document very fluently, allowing for changes to be made. Such as the fact that when they said all men are created equal, they were more likely than not, talking about all rich white land owning men.

Now, they created the constitution of the United States, Article 1= the legislative branch and it's powers given to it (massive, and it's the first article in the constitution clearly favored by the founding fathers.), Article 2= The Presidency and executive office [which does have some judicial and legislative powers (legislative= veto,,, judicial=presidential pardon), article 3 talks very briefly about the judicial branch and only creates the supreme court, every other court in the united states was created by the legislative branch.

We have 3 branches of government so that when 1 gets out of hand the people are still protected as every person has said above me, when congress gets out of line and passes laws that are unconstitutional the supreme court found the power [was not directly given to it] to strike down laws found unconstitutional. yes la la la

They did this so that nobody could become too powerful (because the branches would check and balance each other) and also so that the entirety of the government was NOT in the hands of one person, like in England ---> they were very fearful that this person would become corrupted and pull down the whole government.

The founders established a strong executive branch to ensure efficiency in decision-making and to provide leadership during times of crisis. They wanted a single individual to oversee the enforcement of laws and represent the nation in dealings with other countries.

The Constitution of the United States did not strengthen nor did it weaken executive power, it granted limited power to the President for a limited time. Any strengthening of the Executive branch has happened through political inventions such as Executive Orders and military police actions or humanitarian aid. It is not the Executive branch alone that has found strength from outside of the Constitution. Congress has found the power to enforce their own laws, a power delegated to the Executive branch, by the creation of administrative agencies. The courts have found the power of legislation through "activism" and all three branches have worked together like an Olympic weight lifting team to strengthen each branch at the great expense of the people.

There is no good reason at all for our President to be the most powerful leader in the free world. In our republican form of government we don't have leaders we have representatives who have been authorized to act on the peoples behalf. To provide for the defense of this nation, to promote the general welfare and to ensure that the inalienable rights of each individual are not impinged upon. Each branch was granted limited power to accomplish this. Because we have a government who has cleverly sidestepped our Constitution and invented a bureaucratic system where the people, so overwhelmed and dismayed by the foreign nature of the laws and rules and procedures they have been presented with they simply just go along. After all, it could be worse, we could live in some other tyrannic country that's not as free as our own tyrannic country. I once watched John Stewart of Comedy Central say that he did not want a President he could relate to, a folksy likable chap. He wanted a President who was smarter than him. He wanted a President who was ridiculously smarter than him. Every body in the room watching that episode, except for me of course, nodded their heads in agreement. Why should we go in agreement that the problems of today are too complex for the average person to handle? What kind of weak willed philosophy is that? We don't need a government filled with officials who are smarter than the people, we need people who are smarter than these ambitious fools who seek to circumvent the Constitution in order to better lead. Don't follow that nonsense. Follow your own path, and don't let a government with no authority to do so, intrude upon your happiness.

The executive branch is severely checked by the other branches, especially the legislative. The purpose for the executive branch itself was mainly for the American people to have a leader that can enforce the policies enacted by the legislative and judicial branches. The founders would never have wanted an overly powerful executive branch - they had just gotten out from under the rule of a king and never wanted the state's power to rest in one person.
