I ran away several different times at the age of 15. And the police station got involved two of the times. The police station told me that if I ran away a third time and they were involved than my most likely option would be, being sent to a group home. I dont know if this is the LAW, a SCARE TACTIC, or something PARENTALLY involved, but this is what i was told.

In Pennsylvania, minors who run away from home may be considered dependent children and could be placed in foster care or a shelter. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for the safety and care of minors, and law enforcement may be involved in locating and returning runaways to their homes. Minors may also be subject to counseling or intervention programs to address the underlying issues leading to their behavior.

A parent can call you a run away and have the police bring you home. They can say you are a repeat run away and try to place you where you can not run away.
