Horses that are selected and trained for the police are probably bred specifically in their facilities for the right temperment, and bloodlines to create a very well rounded horse. Then they will have to go through training to bomb proof (bomb proofing is training to keep horses calm in all situations so that they dont spook) and desensitize them. The final product would be your police horse, extremely well trained to be in tune with it's rider and to ignore distractions around itself.
Most states have a mounted police unit. For crowd control the specially trained horses are perfect. Search and Rescue units also use horses to go over terrain that vehicles could never get to. And of course the Canadian Mounties and the Texas Rangers still rely on horse-power.
it depends. horses that have been trained to will, but if the horses hasn't been trained to, it wont.
Police they are better trained, also the swat team is more trained than marines!
Yes horses are smart and very trainable animals. If they were not relatively easy to train humans would not have domesticated them and used them for millennia.
