www.floridastatefirecollege.org Theres alot of info on that site. That's where i went to become a Firefighter. The Florida State Fire College is the best fire school in the state( hence the Florida State Fire College name :D ) . Theres many other places to go alot of them only teach you to be a firefighter 1 though. Which is only good enough for a volunteer firefighter. You need to be a Firefighter 2 if you want to be a career firefighter. Go to your local fire station. Im sure theres a few guys who went to local Fire Schools and they had to have been in Florida since Florida does not accept other state fire certifications. You will also need to be an EMT. Being a Paramedic wouldn't hurt you in the least. You'll get picked over anybody for a job if your a paramedic.

Weather can affect a firefighter because the wind can make the flames even bigger and it might burn them and also if there was lightning it can cause a fire and make the job of a firefighter even harder.
Yes. The police can pull over anyone who appears to be violating the laws. Volunteer firefighters may be exempt from speeding tickets in a few areas but usually get more tickets issued to them than the average civilian. More often, the police will respect the badge and the job of a volunteer firefighter, and not issue a citation.
Jobs at the fire department are most often volunteer jobs. However, there is occasionally a person or two who has firefighting as their main occupation.
There are training programs that you can take that will help you get your foot in the door. It is a very physical job so make sure you are in shape. You can also start out by becoming a volunteer firefighter.
No you don't have to go to college but education always helps. Most professional Firefighters go to some form of an academy that can range from 6 to 16 weeks. this is followed up by years of on the job training. Firefighters never stop learning or trainingYes

TAKE AN EMT-1 CERTIFICATION CLASS. IT'S ONE SEMESTER & LOTS OF FUN. THEN VOLUNTEER FOR YOUR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT, IF THEY HAVE A VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. OR GET A JOB AS A FIREFIGHTER/EMT, OR AN EMT WITH AN AMBULANCE COMPANY. GET SOME EXPERIENCE. YOU WILL FIND OUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO COMMIT TO A PARAMEDIC PROGRAM, WHICH IS EXPENSIVE, INTENSIVE, AND TAKES OVER YOUR LIFE FOR A YEAR OR MORE.
It's definitely not an easy task, and can vary be how big or small your city's fire department is, and how many other people are applying for the job. There are certainly things you can do to help increase your chances, such as keeping a clean criminal record, getting a college degree, being physically fit, among other things.
