The Constitution had a strong national government and anti federalists wanted a LIMITED government. They wanted the government run by ordinary citizens while the Constitution had wealthy, educated people run the government.
The MAIN reason they opposed it is because at the time, the Constitution didn't contain the Bill of Rights and they didn't trust the government officials to protect individual rights. I mean, they just won a war with Britain because they wanted to protect their rights!!
Hope I helped :)
