Next in line after the VP is the Speaker of the House.
The Presidency goes to the Vice President. If the VP dies, Presidency passes to the Speaker of the House.
The VP becomes president whenever the president dies or resigns. If the president is temporarily unable to discharge his duties, the VP can temporarily be authorized to act as president.
The new President will nominate a new Vice President. After being approved by the US Senate, the nominee becomes the new VP.

If the VP dies first, the president would choose a new VP. If the president dies first,. the VP would become president and then would choose a new VP. If the president and VP both die at the same time, the Speaker of the House would become president and then he would choose a new VP.
The speaker of the House becomes the Vice President.
The President pro tempore of the Senate becomes the President. He/she is the leader of the Senate when the vice president can not attend. If him/her dies also then the Secretary of State becomes President.
The President appoints a new VP with Congress's approval. If the President and VP were to both die or leave office suddenly, then the Speaker of the House of Representatives becomes president and a new VP is appointed. The order of presidential succession goes: President VP Speaker of the House President Pro-tempore of the Senate Cabinet (by order of when the positions were established)
