Franklin D. Roosevelt with 635 Vetoes.
The President is the head of his party and has lot of power to reward or punish party members who help or hurt his program. He can campaign for Congressmen. He has a lot of freedom about where federal funds are spent. He nominates federal judges and takes his list from his supporters. He also as the power of the veto or the threat of a veto.
Depends. During war the president has a lot of leadership and can do a lot more then when the country isn't at war. When at peace all he/she can do is propose bills, veto bills, and ask to go to war...and sometimes (bush) declare police action in other countries.
No, not generally. The President has no legal connection to Congress. A president whose party gets a big majority in Congress has a lot of say over Congress, but it is mo tly because of respect or of party demands. Every President has some power over Congress because of the veto and because of appointments, but when the Congress is from the opposing party, his power over them is rather limited.
The name Heaton used a lot in Yorkshire and was a president in 1800!!
Which Queen? There are a lot of Queens. In the UK no bill can become law without royal assent so I'd say her veto power is pretty serious. However, the Queen rarely uses that veto power.
FDR and Grover Cleveland top the list of American presidents with the most vetos. FDR had 635 vetos, although he did serve almost four terms Grover Cleveland vetoed 414 times and only served two terms (only president to serve two separate terms, he was the 22nd and 24th president of America)
Many people would argue that the most important players in government are senators because they have a lot of clout and voting power. Furthermore, they can make big decisions without approval of the president, though he can veto bills that they have approved.
He was rotund, thereby earning the sobriquet 'Uncle Jumbo' (jumbo for elephant). He also used hie presidential veto power a lot, particularly on matters concerning the removal of the gold standard which backed American currency at that time. Hence the name 'Veto man'.
A printing press is a very heavy piece of equipment that needs a lot of power to get going. A capacitor start motor is used because it has the ability to supply a lot of power on startup.
