The same rights that every US citizen has under the Constitution, with the exception age restriction laws. Examples, the right to vote is 18, purchase and consumption of alchohol is 21, age of legal adult is 18, age to enter into legal contracts is 18, age to marry or enlist in the military without parental consent is 18, age when parental custody no longer applies is 18, age to drop out of school without parental consent is 18.
16 year olds do not really have many rights when it comes to custody, they can give their opinion of who they want to live with, but it doesn't end with them. The person who gets the final say of a custody agreement is the judge. If the child does not like the order, the child could possibly file for emancipation, in which he can then live where ever he wants, with whomever he wants.

I'm not sure about Louisiana but many states say that the man who is married to the women is the father no matter if he is the biological father or not so he would have the rights to the child example: if they were to divorce he would be responsible for supporting the child in less he decided to sign over all of his rights to the child in which case he would no longer have rights to claim that child or visit
