that's a good question that im not sure if many fought but about 2.2 million women worked doing jobs like weapon assembly, building boats, truck driving.
if i were to guess i don't think any were on the lines with guns because at the time it was considered a mans only job but i wouldn't be surprised if several hundred thousand had jobs like working on aircraft and antiaircraft.
