The high rise flats in Kincardine had very low occupancy levels, it was costing the council over £100K alone in lost rent, nobody wanted to stay in them. It is felt that high rise living is not the way forward, people no longer want to stay in high rise blocks of flats, low level housing association housing will instead be built around the area once the top soil has been removed and the area flattened.
For those that do not know Europeans call apartments, 'flats.' In many countries land can be scarce so building either a high rise with several flats (apartments) can contain 30; 100; 200 or more flats to live in thus cutting down the use of land.
Low water pressure in higher floors of high rise flats is often due to the gravity of water not providing enough force to push water up to those levels. Additionally, the distance that the water needs to travel and the complexity of the plumbing system can also contribute to reduced water pressure. These factors combined can result in occupants at higher floors experiencing lower water pressure compared to those at lower levels.
