People don't have children to give them away to others, even if it is their parents. To be apart hurts and the big generation gap can also make it difficult for the child. Grandparents had their children and got to be parents and now they have a chance to be grandparents. There's a big difference between baby sitting and have full custody. When people get old and retire they start to feel it's their time and do things they always wanted. Having kids you can't always do that.
Every person born has 2 parents. Your parent's parents are your grandparents. Your grandparents also had parents-- their parents are your great-grandparents. Your great-grandparents had parents, who are your great-great grandparents.
