The best person to ask is your parole officer. Each state / county has different laws on Pellet guns
Ector has no laws on shooting a pellet gun in your back yard,, Now if you do not have a good back stop an Officer can tell you to stop, But he can not charge you or take you to jail.... The city of Odessa has banned all l air guns,,,,
It all depends on the laws in the location where you live.
Depends on the pellet gun, the distance, and the game laws where you live. Most pellet guns should not be used to hunt anything bigger than a squirrel. They do not have enough energy for a humane kill.
It all depends on the final destination laws and regulations.
It is my understanding you can shoot an air gun in the backyard in the County of Sacramento (I don't know about the City of Sacramento) providing the pellet does not travel past your premises onto a neighboring property. If the pellet gun is loud, there might be some issues relating to noise ordinance... usually after or before certain hours. The only laws on the books in Sacramento County specify issues regarding to shooting in or within 150 yards of a public park... which is not allowed.
You can, but, the question is should you and does it violate any local laws.
It depends on the model and the caliber of the Pellet gun.
I think you mean pellet gun. That is a gun that fires a small lead pellet but does not use gun powder. It uses compressed air or compressed gasses to push the pellet.
You will have to contact the county police for a current and correct answer.
The first layer is federal gun laws. From there State laws can restrict gun laws more, but not make them more liberal. From there County laws/ordinances can restrict more so, but not make them more liberal. <><><> Above is correct, but with an exception- Many states have enacted "preemption" statutes, to prevent a "patchwork quilt" of gun laws that vary dramatically city to city, county to county. In those states, the State Legislature preempts the ability of a county to pass gun laws, reserving that right to itself.
A pellet gun is not adequate for protection, and will get you arrested.
