Bundy seemed to like young girls of collegiate age with long dark hair. It has been taken as truth that he chose these certain physical characteristics after being spurned by a girlfriend with similar traits. This theory is pretty thin. Bundy displayed disturbing behavior from his earliest years and in fact had assaulted at least one woman before he even met his future love.
What makes more sense is that Bundy obviously was attracted to women with these qualities since his crimes were sexual in nature. Just as some men prefer blondes Bundy liked young girls with a particular look.
