"Mr. and Mrs. America--you are wrong. I am not the King of the Jews nor am I a hippie cult leader. I am what you have made me and the mad dog devil killer fiend leper is a reflection of your society. . .Whatever the outcome of this madness that you call a fair trial or Christian justice, you can know this: In my mind's eye my thoughts light fires in your cities."

--Charles Manson's statement after his conviction--

for the Tate-LaBianca murders.

He was emotionaly unstable.

Manson seems to be that rare individual that can be a serial killer and suffer from some sort of dementia. I think APD is appropiate for a diagnosis. But he has so many different going on it might be hard to pinpoint.

He was not. At the time of his trial for the Tate-LaBianca murders he was found sane enough to stand trial. Had he been found insane he would not have stood trial and he most definitely would not have received the death penalty.

I believe Manson's diagnosis was APD (Anti-social Personality Disorder), at times delusional and paranoid.

Charles Manson behavior?

People think that Charles Manson is bipolar, but I personally think that his behavior shows intelligence. His quotes is what made me start to think this. Being bipolar has nothing to do with intelligence. A person can be both. Charles Manson had limited use for his intelligence in his developing years and a very rough life, which apparently drove him into negative use of his intelligence.
