Limited liability is a concept whereby a person's financial liability is limited to a fixed sum, most commonly the value of a person's investment in a company or partnership with limited liability. A shareholder in a limited liability company is not personally liable for any of the debts of the company, other than for the value of his investment in that company. The same is true for the members of a limited liability partnership and the limited partners in a limited partnership. By contrast, sole proprietors and partners in general partnerships are each liable for all the debts of the business (unlimited liability).
I believe that LLP would be Limited Liability Practice. Same as PC at the end of a Law firm means Professional Corporation. or LLC-Limited Liability Corporation.... This simply shows the public, based on various state laws, that the Law firm has been incorporated.
== == I've done a lil research because I was wondering this same thing. There is no abbreviation for partnership. It's only abbreviated when its used in conjunction with another word, like "limited partnership" (L.P. or LP). For some reason I thought there was an abbreviation for partnership alone, but I haven't been able to find one, like I'm sure you haven't either. Hope this is helpful to you! Veronica, WA

Partners in a general partnership share equally in both responsibility and liability. Many of the same kinds of businesses that operate as sole proprietorships could operate as general partnerships.
None. A partnership is nothing but a glorified sole proprietorship...it provides ZERO legal protection. If anyone sues you, they can take all of your assets. When it comes to taxes, you pay an additional 15% self employment tax on any profit from the business. A limited liability company offers more legal protection, but you are still in the same boat with taxes. Legally, an LLC member is only liable up to the amount he has invested in the company. So if you only invested $10,000 in the company and someone sues you, they can only get $10,000.
The registry is limited to same-sex couples who are residents of Milwaukee.
You transfer real estate to a limited liability company by executing a deed, in the same manner as you would if you were transferring the real estate to a corporation or, for that matter, to an individual.
