The Professor Layton games can be played on different game consoles. Some of the game consoles that support the Professor Layton games are Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS.
I don't think games have serial numbers.
No. US games are NTSC while Australian consoles only play PAL games. I think that Australian consoles should work with European, Indian, Chinese and Brazilian games but not American, Canadian or Japanese.
No, as Asia has their format of encoding the games, and English consoles have their own. This also applies to English games on an Asian game console.
in my opinion it is ps3 because it has better graphics and my favorite games (Uncharted, God of war 3) are on ps3. Both consoles are not anywhere near as good without having an online connection and the PS3 Move and Xbox 360 Kinect needed updates to the older consoles for them to work. Games also need updates and the online connection makes it easy. If you have internet in you house the consoles should be connected
