∙ 11y agoYes, if your divorce decree outlines that you must pay child support until your child reaches age 18 you will have to continue to pay even though they have dropped out of school. Once they turn 18 and do not go to college, your child support will quit.

∙ 11y agoNo. Michigan Law mandates you are responsible up to the age of 19.5. If the child decides to go back, before that time, the custodial parent has to allow it. You have to maintain the home until that time.

∙ 13y agoIt depends on the state. In most states, yes, child support continues until the age of 18, even if the child graduates high school before their 18th birthday.

Who is paying for the school? Is it a scholarship or a relative? As long as it is not the person required to pay child support it really doesn't matter. The child still needs clothes, uniforms, health insurance, all sorts of things. Sorry, you don't get out of paying child support based on where the kid goes to school.
