They would often have several pistols that they would use and reload if they could they would never throw the pistol after they had used the shot. They would also use the pistol as clubs. Pirates liked to keep their distance and if they had to they would fight with their sword. They liked to stab people in the back but if it came to One-on-one combat they could take care of themselves
