The United States Constitution has 27 Amendments as of year 2010.
This is the complete list of the ratified and unratified amendments to the United States Constitution which received the approval of the United States Congress. Twenty-seven amendments have been ratified since the original signing of the Constitution, the first ten of which are known collectively as the Bill of Rights. The procedure for amending the United States Constitution is governed by Article V of the original text. There have been many other proposals for amendments to the United States Constitution introduced in Congress, but not submitted to the states.

In 1789, the constitution had an option for amendments. That is why today, the amendments to the constitution are what our society sees as the loopholes in the constitution. Or our congressmen, anyway.
the constitution and the amendments
The Miranda rights were not vetoed. They are in use today. They come from the amendments to the Constitution.
There are 27 amendments. All the amendments are neither formal or informal. If an amendment has not gone through the process laid out in the constitution it is not an amendment.
Same as today. The only thing that has been changed or added are the amendments.
The Constitution of the United States was made a long time ago, and since the time it was written, there have been many changes to our society. Although the necessary and proper clause gives the government has applied powers and the right to take actions that are necessary "stretching" the words of the Constitution, there are some necessities that list today which aren't even referred to in the Constitution. Thus, amendments make the government able, with the proper process, to make necessary changes to the Constitution. the constitution is important because it provides a blueprint for government in the united states
The first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United States is called the "Bill of Rights". It is a list of restrictions on governmental power. The rest of the Constitution cover "how the government does things". The Bill of Rights says "The government MAY NOT DO these things". The idea of restrictions on government power was novel and innovative in its day, and even today many people - including lawmakers and lawyers - have difficulty with the idea that there are some things governments are not allowed to do.
