There is no scientific proof that they exist, only a very good statistical probability that they do. If by deep space you mean the place outside of our galaxy, then yes, it is more likely they live there as there are many many galaxies like ours.
But, if there are only 2 or 5 or 1 million civilizations out there, it would be as a grain of sand in a beach in the Greek islands trying to find another grain of sand in a beach in California.

Surely all the ingredients for life must be on some of them. Life as we know it needs water, oxygen and a limited tempture change. However, life such as we couldn't even dream of may exist by different laws. We haven't even scratched the surface of exploring space yet. Who knows what we may find. We may go to the very edge of space, look out and see another blade of grass. Blows your mind, doesn't it? Aliens don't exist. There's a line in a prayer that says "the heavens is the heavens of God and the land was given to the sons of Adam." Hence, no aliens. So aliens can't live on a planet, as they don't exist. If you're talking about humans, well, that's a good question.
