You don't really need either. However if you need one as a requirement math literacy is the more correct option. It deals with the basic understanding of math while pure math is a series of complex mathematics courses that involve theoretical problems with no actually world uses outside of math(at the moment).

Will math be the focus of your work when you're a lawyer? No. However, the American Bar Association currently recommends that undergraduates planning to attend law school acquire "basic mathematical and financial skills, such as an understanding of basic pre-calculus mathematics and an ability to analyze financial data." You will also need to get good grades in your undergraduate math courses to get into law school. Math skills will also help you on the Logical Reasoning section of the LSAT.
