How do you resign from condo association board?
Once you become a board member, whether appointed by the
developer or elected by the membership, you may resign your post as
either a named officer, or as a director of the association -- or
both, by sending a letter to the board indicating your
resignation.
You need not give a reason.
Best practices dictate that you turn over your duties and
responsibilities to another board member, so that your work tasks
can proceed under new leadership. You can leave a wide paper trail
of these actions, to protect yourself from future legal action.
It's important that you resign in writing, and send a letter to
your association manager for deposit within the business archives
of the association.
