In England, Wales and Scotlandthe age of consent is sixteen, provided that neither party holds a position of trust (such as that of a teacher, social worker and the like). If a couple date it is not automatically assumed that they have sex.

yes as long as there is no sexual relations involved. As matter of being sure, no touching that would be considered that as well (Kissing may be considered that - other than simple pecks).

There is less than a year until legal so if you are serious waiting is the best thing.

Socially that age gap is not usually a problem. but at 17 or 18? There are a lot of things to be considered.

In some jurisdictions, the age of consent is 16 years, while in others, it is 18 years. While simply dating may be legal (although sometimes frowned upon), if the relationship involves sex, then it may not be legal where the age of consent is 18.

Note that in some jurisdictions, no action would be taken if two persons closer in age have sex before the age of consent, but don't take this as legal advice.
