∙ 14y agoNo, there is no law (in the US) requiring that she give back the wedding and engagement ring. Totally correct because the rings are considered a GIFT.

∙ 14y agoI believe you are asking if you can give just the engagement ring and not the whole wedding set. Please clarify the question, if this is not the case. Yes, you can give just an engagement ring. Usually the man proposes with an engagement ring and then the wedding band is worn after the wedding along side the engagement ring.
If you are married she should already have an engagement ring. You give her the engagement ring when you propose, before the wedding is even planned.
If you plan to ask her to marry you, you should give her an engagement ring. The majority of engagement rings are diamond but keep in mind that you can easily find a diamond engagement ring for your budget. If you buy a nice engagement ring, you and your bride-to-be can buy your wedding rings with or without diamonds or just plain gold (or another material) wedding bands.
Traditionally, when someone proposes marriage, they typically present an engagement ring rather than both an engagement ring and a wedding band. The engagement ring is given at the time of the proposal, symbolizing the commitment to marriage. It is worn on the ring finger of the left hand. The wedding band is exchanged during the wedding ceremony itself. Both partners typically exchange wedding bands as a symbol of their commitment to each other. The wedding band is often a simpler and more understated ring compared to the engagement ring. However, customs and preferences can vary, and some individuals choose to give both the engagement ring and wedding band at the time of the proposal. Others may opt for a bridal set, which includes both rings designed to complement each other. Ultimately, the choice depends on personal preferences and cultural or regional traditions.
Your engagement ring goes on the left hand ring finger, then at the wedding you move it to the right hand so your wedding ring can be placed on this finger and move it back later. You can buy engagement and wedding rings that match, but if you have a very fancy engagement ring it is better to have a plain wedding ring.
Well, it's usually customary for the woman to give the engagement ring back to the man unless he insists she keep it. (This is assuming the man bought the ring in the first place.)
whoever brought the ring should get it back .
