Why should'nt 14 year olds work?

It is illegal because of the past working conditions that were forced on children.

Alternate Theories:

One theory is that America was too lazy to make working, healthy work condition laws and make minimum wage fair for everyone. So they just got rid of child labor all together. Now children cannot make money at all, they have to depend on their parents for everything, which their parents will not provide all of. In other words, there is absolutely no easy way to consistently make money as a child, that is not through your parents, because in America, and basically any other country, children are not given any rights at all, they just think they are given rights so they will feel like they are important. Children are now pushed into the role of parasites, whether they want to be, or not. They can't change that until one of them is president, and, they won't, because they are now an adult and the circumstances they were going through are now gone, because once they turn into an adult, they select groups of people they care about and want to help, and they do not want children to benefit where they did not.

So, in other words, selfishness, and laziness, is why no children can work, and it will unfortunately stay that way.

i think that it should be lowered because kids can handle somethings like adults and it would teach teens how to take things seriously. it would teach teens how to be prepared for work when they become adluts and they already know how to do it because they already did will they were kids so that is wat i thing

Kids can't have a job because they are too young and it's too much work for them to function and remember all the things you have to do for a job that is why they should not work.

Also, children were once made to work, and there were horrible working conditions for them. So the government banned this to stop exploitation by creating child labor laws.

If you are 14 or older, you can work with a permit in some states. But it is rare to find a job when you are younger than 16, especially in California.

You can work , but time and types are limited. There are some jobs you can do . For example, Paperboy,Walk dogs,Lifeguard,Sell Ice Cream ,Tutoring ,Babysitter , Pet sitter and so on.

because they still need to grow up and aren't mature enough and they cant handle any machinery including cash registers so um yea.....
