There are actually quite a few places. Such as; Kohls (about $8 an hour), supermarkets, and movie theaters, to name a few. Of course, you would need a workers permit to even be able to qualify for one of these positions. To get a workers permit you need; Birth certificate, social security card (everyone has one as soon as you are born you are assigned one), a written parent's consent, and a $10 permit fee. I am 14 as well and had the same problem, i literally just found all this information and it is helping a ton already. Don't settle for less like babysitting or mowing your neighbors lawn,do something more. Plus, these would be great opportunities for a first hand work experience.

It depends on where you live and what type of job you want. Most jobs do not hire people under the age 18, some jobs do not hire people under the age of 16...
You may need to be at least 16 years old for most jobs as there are more restrictions on the hours and days and types of jobs younger teens can have. Restaurants and fast food joints are always looking for workers and will hire teens. Try Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Taco Johns, Domino's, etc. Also try convenience stores like the Kum&Go. Child Care places will also hire teens. Places that provide recreation also hire teens, such as the Campbell County Recreation Center. Life guard training can be helpful in finding jobs. And then there are babysitting jobs, lawn care, and caring for pets which are all good jobs for any teenager.

Fifteen year olds usually were apprentices to writers or printers. Older teens or young adults worked on plantations growing rice, indigo, tobacco, cotten, or raising cattle.

Most fast food and retail jobs will hire sixteen-year-olds, provided you're old enough by your state's standard to get a job (which, I believe all states set the legal age at sixteen). Highly technical jobs and jobs requiring experience will not.
Jobs that a 16 year old can get depends on where they live. Some teens at that age may be able to find a job in retail such as at a mall or grocery store.
Most jobs begin hiring at the legal age of 18.
