It all depends on the state you are employed (minimum wage is affected by the state of employment) and the number of years you have been working. I am a third-year lifeguard, and I make $8.05/hour. When I first started out, I was making $6.60/hour, but that was before minimum wage went up in the state of Illinois. Depending on these factors, my guess is that you would end up making $7.00/hour to $8.50/hour.

It all really depends on just how much you work, and what your hourly wage is. Lifeguard schedules are known to be very flexible, and you can usually stipulate how much or how little you want to work. I am a third-year lifeguard, and I make $8.05/hour. A beginning lifeguard probably makes around $7.00/hour or $7.50/hour. So, I guess all you have to do yourself is the math to figure it all out. Keep in mind that your employer will withhold earnings from each paycheck for state and federal taxes, and social security, all of which adds up to about 15% to 18% of your gross pay.
