You can become a lawyer by taking a law degree then sitting the CPE then serving Articles (an internship) or you can train as a legal secretary, register to train as a legal executive (whilst working) then go straight into Articles (you are exempt from sitting the CPE if you are a fully qualified legal executive).
If you choose to take a law degree, you will run up debts whilst at law school and you will then be on very low wages until you are fully qualified but if you train as a legal sec then start work and train part-time, your employer should pay for your training (if not, the costs are tax-deductible anyway). If you want to become a notary, you can train on the job but you must have at least one foreign language, preferably two or three.
