In fact biotechnology can be divided in many areas depending upon the profile of the researcher.
So, we have engineers focused on designing new instruments, vessels or machines to perform biological processes (e.g., bioreactors, biomass separators, filters, different kind of biosensors, etc.). On the other hand, we have biologists, either microbiologists, botanists, virologists, etc., that put their biological expertice in order to understand and mimic the processes to be developed through technology.
