Because a real estate agent is a "subcontractor" (unless they own their own brokerage firm) agents are responsible for finding their own clients. Not much is handed to you on a silver platter. So you must be motivated, very organized and self disciplined. It's a tough profession and needs at least 6 months to a year before you start making any real money.

FOR NEWBIES to real estate: if you are planning on getting your license, make sure you have at least 6 months of money saved up to live on first or you will go broke waiting for those first commission checks to come in!! Take it from someone who knows.....
