Answer depends on what part of the region you work at and which state. In New York The long Island offices are considered downstate and they location pay is a little more than the location pay for upstate workers. Ive been employed at the DMV for a year and just recently we got a raise 3/2008 the pay rate for the year is 29,595 ( I bring home after taxes/service dues/and other crap I dont know what Im paying for $833) also with a location pay that averages $49 every 2 weeks. Im a full time civil service worker. As far as I know the part time employees at my office work about 20 hours and are making about same money. There are however per diem employees who make more money but do not have the state benefits.
